Maps for Chamonix
Maps for Chamonix
Situated in the Haute-Savoie region of France, Chamonix is bordered by Switzerland and Italy and dominated by the incredible Aiguilles de Chamonix mountain chain which peaks at the top of Mont Blanc (4810m) - the highest in Western Europe. Whilst the principal town is of the same name, 'Chamonix' is often used in reference to the whole valley, stretching over 28km from Le Fayet to Switzerland. It is, however, made up of several distinct and charming villages including Servoz, Les Houches, Les Bossons, Les Praz, Les Tines, Argentiere, Montroc, and at the top of the valley, Le Tour. As such, there are six separate lift systems in the valley, each offering a wide variety of activities.
To help you get your bearings, in this section you will find area maps showing you the layout of the land, detailed street maps, activity area maps, and lift & piste maps for the whole valley.

Street Maps for Chamonix Valley
These are the available maps for the roads and streets in the valley from Les Houches to Argentiere (except there isn't a map of Argentiere as no-one local has done one yet... still you'd be hard pushed to get lost there!!)
Lift & Piste Maps for Chamonix
There are several piste maps available for the Chamonix region, depending on which source you want to use. We have listed online interactive maps of each area from the Compagnie du Mont Blanc which shows the opening status of the lifts and pistes.
Paper versions of the piste maps are available from the lift stations, Tourist Office, hotel receptions and the like, so no need to print them out. Or check out our iPhone app for all the resort information you need!
