Arc'teryx Alpine Arc'ademy, Chamonix
Three days of mountaineering education and inspiration, June
The Arc'teryx Alpine Arc'ademy is back after a hugely successful first edition. This three day alpine academy course is open to all and will cover an array of high mountain skills, from overnight bivvies to crevasse rescue, as well as seminars and cultural events. The seminars will discuss alpinism topics including the impact of climate change to the mountains and high mountain medicine.

The Cross du Mont Blanc gives less hardcore runners the chance to compete over a similar course, which is just half the distance of the marathon. At 21kms the route covers a height differential of 1300 metres, so it is still a mighty challenge.

If you’re a fan of distance running then the Marathon du Mont Blanc is the ultimate challenge. Covering 42kms and climbing over 1,000 metres, this high-altitude race is for the super-fit! An annual event, the Chamonix marathon takes place every June and attracts thousands of competitors and spectators. There are a number of extra events held throughout the weekend, enabling everyone to get involved in the Marathon du Mont Blanc.
