The acclaimed French actor will be shooting scenes this week up at the Col des Montets, Tré le Champs and in the centre of Chamonix.
The film is being produced by Philippe Godeau and will be based on the true story of Toni Musulin, the man who stole 11.6 million Euros from the Banque de France while on duty. ...more

Chamonix local on housing rights hunger strike7 summits mountaineer on hunger strike
by Robin Deering | Ski Editor | published: 11th May, 2012Local chef and mountaineer Florent Guillarme has been on hunger strike since Wednesday in an appeal to his landlord to improve living conditons.The story started back in January when Florent was working outside of the Chamonix valley and after a weeks absence, came home to find his home completely flooded. An empty apartment above had sprung a leak and flooded his apartment causing widespread damage.
The neighbouring apartment was broken into by local fire-fighters but the stop cock could not be found - so a call to the owner was made. However the owner was unreachable and local property agent in charge of selling his apartment refused to give entry.
A month later Florent Guillarme still without news from his neighbour has had to pay out for a second rent as his home was uninhabitable. ...more

An young instructor with the Italian mountain military school has suffered a fatal fall on the Tour Ronde on the French side of the Mont Blanc massif.
The 28 year qualified mountaineer fell over 350 metres on Thursday whilst on a steep ski descent of the North face of the Tour Ronde. ...more

The mountaineer was swept away by an avalanche whilst climbing the aiguille d’Argentiere with two other skiers. The avalanche came down form the top of the glacier du Milieu and dragged the man along 100 metres of snow and rock. ...more
