Two Candidates for Chamonix Lift Contract

CMB and SEPP prepare their candidatures for new lift contract

Following the announcement at the start of the year that Chamonix town hall and the Chamonix lift operator (CMB) will be voiding the current contract, to make way for a modernised agreement, two companies have presented for the role: the Compagnie du Mont Blanc (CMB) themselves and the former Les Houches lift company (SEPP).

A British man suffered a fatal fall off the Aiguille du Midi ridge yesterday whilst trying to make his way back to Aiguille du Midi lift in a snowstorm.

Tourists air-lifted to safety after lift break down

Guides to Assure Refuge du Gouter Security

An agreement between the French Mountain Federation of Alpine Clubs (FFCAM) and the two major Mont Blanc guide companies has been signed to ensure there will be at least 12 mountain guides available at the Refuge du Gouter for security reasons.
