Chamonix Skywalk Passes the TestChamonix Step into the Void undergoes first set of tests
The eagerly awaited Chamonix Skywalk has just passed the first round of testing, as part of a string of safety tests before the official opening on the 21st of December.
One and half tonnes of sand bags (an equivalent of 20 people) were loaded onto the glazed floor to prove the strength of the structure, which will allows visitors to step out onto a glass floor 1000 metres above the void.
Both the Laubeuf construction team and the team of experts who are signing off the Skywalk's safety standards were on site yesterday to see the first stage of testing.
