Faster Connections to Geneva by Eurostar this Winter

Journey times cut down by an hour with a new change over at Lille

featured in News & reviews Author Ellie Mahoney, Chamonix Editor Updated

Anyone travelling by Eurostar train via Geneva this winter could save up to an hour on their journey with a new service switching trains in Lille instead of Paris.

Waiting times at Lille could be under 30 minutes and reduce journey times from a little over seven hours to a little over 6 hours in total.

Tickets go on sale on the 9th October and the first of this new service sets off on 14th December.

Getting to Chamonix by train offers a great alternative to flying, and there is no weight restriction on your baggage. You're allowed to take 2 bags (up to 85cm long), 1 piece of hand luggage and your skis or snowboard and anything over this will need to be registered in advance. Take a look at the website for more information.
