On the 18th of September, Spaniard Kilian Jornet arrived in Chamonix having travelled from Courmayeur and soloed the Innominata Ridge on the South side of Mont Blanc. The ultra trail, sky running and ski mountaineering athlete made the incredible journey in the record time of 8 hours, 42 minutes and 57 seconds. Most normal expeditions take around 3 days to do the route. Upon arrival in Les Houches, Jornet declared that it had been 'a nice morning!'

Jornet made the crossing as part of his 'Summits of My Life' project - a 4 year quest to run the length of the world's greatest mountain ranges as fast as possible. Yesterday's Courmayeur-Chamonix journey was the second in the Summits of My Life series and Jornet made the crossing carrying minimal kit and equipment and only took 400ml of water on the route.
