Chamonix based sports physiotherapist and clinical expert, Neil Maclean-Martin, is launching a new Ski Fit app and online training programme aimed at skiers and snowboarders looking for a sport-specific programme.

The 8 week training programme is split into four phases with the aim of improving strength in key muscles as well as developing flexibility and balance. Follow Neil's handy hour long video demonstrations, which include a warm up activation exercises, core work, circuits, coordination exercises and a final stretch down. Each phase builds on the previous one and with over 100 individual ski specific exercises.

Neil has worked for over 15 years in the world of elite sport and is a clinical specialist in musculoskeletal sports injuries, is regarded as one of Europe’s leading ski and snowboard physiotherapists, regularly treating Chamonix’s pro-skiers and mountain professionals.

Chamonix residents may already be aware of the Ski Fit classes that Neil has been running at the Clinique du Sport, but for those unable to attend the classes or who'd prefer to do them at home, now you can. The classes can be found on the BeFitApps website (link above right) and the mobile app is set to launch in just under a week's time - 1st Ocotber - in the itunes app store.

We've had a preview of the site and some of the workouts, and they're really well explained, easy to follow and require minimal equipment. With a couple of months to go before the start of the winter season, now's the time to start thinking about getting in shape before you hit the slopes!
