The second year of roadworks on the RN205, from Chamonix towards Sallaches, will continue with the road being closed from the 15th of April through to the 28th of June.

Canadian technical outdoor company Arc'teryx have announced the second Arc'teryx Alpine Arcademy which will take place again in Chamonix, the three day event will be led by experienced mountain guides and Arc'teryx athletes.

An MP from the UK has been injured in a ski accident in Chamonix. Graham Stuart, the MP for Beverley and Holderness, is believed to have suffered broken bones in last weekend's accident and remains in hospital in France.

A snowboarder has died following an avalanche on Tuesday afternoon on the Swiss side of the Balme/Vallorcine area. The 28 year old Swedish man was riding in Les Jeurs sector of the Domaine de Balme (Le Tour & Vallorcine) when the incident occurred.

A British man and his son have died after a fall

A British 48-year old man and his 12-year old son have been found dead this morning, after a third aerial search and following their disappearance yesterday afternoon. They had set out on foot to explore the 'La Jonction' area, above Les Bossons, an area with steep escarpments and more easily visited in the summertime.

The Mont Blanc Express train service between Chamonix and St Gervais will be suspended from the 2nd of April to the 28th of June. The disruption to the service is to allow necessary works to be carried out on the Vaudagne section of the line and a replacement bus service will be made available.
