World Cup Speed & Lead climbing finals in ChamonixSachi Amma and Mina Markovic on top
Under grey skies and heavy downfalls 10,000 spectators made their way to watch the lead climbing finals for the Climbing World Cup in Chamonix on Friday.
In the mens lead final Sachi Amma, who was third last year, made a tremendous effort to make it to the top (although no climbers actullay made it to the top) and walked away in 1st place. Local Chamonix climber Romain Desgranges slipped on the 8th hold which put him in last place in the final, much to his disappointment.
For the womens lead final the Slovenian Mina Markovic and Korean Jain Kim came out with identical scores but Mina won her 1st place on the final thanks to her semi-final lead.

Previous to the speed finals, three women climbing in under 9 seconds broke the previous world record and the Russian Yuliya Levochkina walked away with a record 8.53 second climb in the qualifications.
In the mens speed climbing Stanislav Kokorin won the final with a staggering 3 second lead.
