One of Chamonix's newest restaurants, Le Cap-Horn is a great place to relax and enjoy a fine dinner in comfortable surroundings. Seafood takes the starring role on the menu although you can choose from a selection of contemporary style Savoyard dishes too. 

Located on Route du Moulin, take the stairs from street level and you will find Le Cap Horn on the upper floors of this recently renovated building. It is the larger of the 2 restaurants within, where you can dine in traditional oak yet modern surroundings. 

The décor takes its inspiration from both the sea and, unsurprisingly, the mountains. Lots of oak timbers and natural colours and textures abound. You'll find one area where French windows open onto a large, perfectly exposed terrace, and then there's also a mezzanine above the main room providing a more intimate setting.

If you feel like continuing the night after your meal, then head downstairs to Les Caves du Pèle, which is a great spot to while away an evening, with DJs providing the music and ambience. You can even choose to sit in your own little cave for a bit more privacy.

A little bit of background:

Owners, Wim Robberse and Laurence Claret-Tournier, have carefully renovated the building that once housed Cybar, Dick's Tea Bar and The Queen Vic. Damaged by fire some years ago, this building has been lovingly redesigned to house the three distinct and contemporary venues - Le Cap-Horn, Le Cap-Blanc and Les Caves du Pèle.

Wim and Laurence are the duo responsible for perennial favourites, La Caleche, offering traditional Savoyard food, and La Cabane, the restaurant at the golf club in Les Praz.
