'The Lapin', as it is commonly referred to, has a huge selection of wines from around the world, and serves Italian-style and often hearty 'dishes of the day' using fresh and fine ingedients, and an assortment of freshly prepared pasta dishes.

During the evening, between 6.30pm-8pm, a buffet bar of tasty appetisers is available free of charge with your drinks. All of the above can be washed down with a cognac or other 'digestif' and the best Italian coffees in Chamonix.

It's small shopfront means that Le Lapin Agile is sometimes overlooked, but it is well worth a visit. It may look full from the outside but the small bar area also has additional seating tucked away upstairs.

As it is also off the main high street, Le Lapin Agile is not usually overly touristy and is therefore a good place to head to read the newspaper or write some postcards during the afternoon. In winter the thick rich hot chocolate is a real treat when the temperatures have taken a plunge. During the summer it is a lovely place to sit outside in the sun, people-watching or taking in the view.
