For simple tasty food in a welcoming environment, head down to Les Praz and check out Hotel les Rhododendrons. Located on the roundabout at the foot of the Flegere cable car it offers a sunny terrace with stunning views of the mountains or the cosy interior with funky decor and comfy sofas.

The lunch menu offers a range of salads, omelettes and toasted sandwiches as well as local specialities such as tartiflette and croute. Prices range from 4.50€ for a ham, cheese and salad sandwich to 12€ for a "Rhodoburger" - a double burger served with cheese and salad. For those who like a challenge ask at the bar for their enormous bowl of chips; it comes in something the size of a large fruit bowl!

The lunch menu usually finishes at around 3pm, after which you can still order freshly made pizzas. There is often live music later on in the afternoon and a great atmosphere to relax and watch the sun go down over the mountains.

Les Rhododendrons can easily be reached by bus or train and is just a short 15-20 minute walk along the river from Chamonix.
