Open year-round for lunch as well as dinner you can be sure of a warm and relaxed welcome from the French-British owners at any time. As part of the establishment there is a small public bar, suited for coffees in the daytime or essential sporting fixtures on the big screen in the evening. Afternoon tea with homemade cakes/pastries is served from 4pm to 6pm.
The menu is prepared by head chef Jean-Yves Bourgeois and features local Savoyarde classics, alongside traditional French cuisine and more contemporary dishes. Menus changes regularly and there are daily specials, reflecting the seasons and the associated fresh produce.
Restaurant Rendezvous is ideally situated at the bottom of the Flégère cable car with a nice garden if you are at the end of a walk. If you come by car there is free parking available.
Reviews & comments from the web:
- "We are fish-eating veggies and the chef went out of his way to keep us well fed with extremely generous portions (the whole region seems to eat very heartily) and superb desserts." - Tripadvisor.co.uk
- "In contrast to the many restaurants in Chamonix offering mountain-stodge, Rendezvous is a breath of fresh air... The cooking is courtesy of head chef Jean-Yves Bourgeois, and is built around a locally-sourced, ever-changing seasonal menu; dishes are predominantly French with a smattering of local Savoyard specialities thrown in for good measure. Indeed, an eclectic mix of fish and meat dishes make a pleasant change from the ham and cheese staples prevalent in the region. Try the pink trout fillet in white butter sauce - it's divine." - Hg2.com
