Video Snow Reports are a regular free snow conditions update service we are offering, in which we finally reveal the identities of some of our Snow Reporters... well that's assuming they are not wearing balaclavas and aviator shades - just to protect them from the from the same people who are after ‘The Stig’ from the BBC’s Top Gear.
We are delighted to be able to offer update and reminder services from Chamonet.com via email and your Inbox. Staying in touch and getting the latest information on what is happening in resort and what the conditions are like is what it is all about. Use these following sign-up options to help us get you the most recent info and (of course!) don’t forget just to check the site anyway ... more

After a cold and VERY wet couple of days for the World Climbing Championships last weekend, the snow line crept almost back down to the mid-stations at 2000m! Thankfully the sunshine and warm temperatures have returned and look set to remain with us for the next few days.
This week’s report comes from the ice caves on the Mer de Glace. Each year a new cave is dug for tourists to come and visit and the movement of the ice can be clearly seen by the previous years cave entrances which have travelled further down the glacier. Inside the cave visitors can view the sculptures and enjoy the colour changing walls, as well as say hello to Alaska the St Bernard dog.
This weekend the Chamonix Pro/Am golf competition will be taking over the course here in Chamonix. Teams made up of one Pro golfer and three amateurs will be competing on the greens in this annual competition.

The summer is now swinging along nicely. The weather is warm, the skies are clear and each week brings new activities and events. This week James reports from the bottom of the Flegere lift station as the Brevent lift is closed all summer for upgrade and this is the new launch pad of choice for the paragliding schools in Chamonix. The weekend ahead focuses on mountain transport in the valley with the opening of the Grand Montets lifts and celebrations to commemorate the hundredth anniversary of the railway line that runs between Le Fayet and Martigny (linking Chamonix and Vallorcine) with outdoor entertainment, children's games, street shows, giant tartiflette and a variety of music. See Paragliding Schools in Chamonix for more details.

It is going to be a busy week in Chamonix and with the sun shining and the skies clearing a very enjoyable one too. This week's report comes from the Chamonix golf course, which is an eighteen hole course in Les Praz. The course is open to the public from April until November and has a relaxed and friendly attitude towards novices and pros alike. There is a shop on site where you can buy or hire equipment and a bar and restaurant where you can enjoy a drink and some food after your round. If golf is not for you then you can enjoy the peaks of the surrounding hills without the slog of climbing then yourself. The lifts in Flegere, Les Houches and Le Tour are all now open. So if you fancy a mountain bike ride with gravity on your side why not load you bike onto the telecabine and fly down the various trails of Chamonix? Finally this Saturday sees one of the biggest parties of the summer as the bars and clubs of Chamonix embrace live music and a carnival atmosphere for the annual Fête de la Musique. Make sure you are there and make sure you have Sunday off!!!
