Video Snow Report from Chamonix : Thu 4th Feb 2010 - Epic conditions for the Chamonix leg of the Nissan Freeride World Tour.

Epic conditions for the Chamonix leg of the Freeride World Tour which was won by local, Candide Toevex with a fluid, explosive, crowd-pleasing run.
Special mention to James Stentiford (not Steniford) the English snowboarder came 3rd which was a massive achievement.
We’re expecting 25cm of snow over the next 3 days, with the freezing level staying around 1000m so conditions looking good. I didn’t manage to get down to Les Houches and get some footage of the new DC park so that’s definitely on the agenda for next week, but you can read all about it and watch a video in the news section.
Friday sees the arrival of the Forreign Beggars at the Podium for the biggest Winter Sessions party yet.. See you all there.

Video Snow Report from Chamonix : Thu 28th Jan 2010 - The Nissan Freeride World Cup, Kandahar and World Junior Ski Championships all this week!

Snowfall and really bad visibility meant that I came back down into town to film this weeks snow report.
The whole town is looking forward to the snow due this week... bring on the powder.
The big story this week is that the Nissan Freeride World Tour comes to town this Saturday. The first event of the tour which was meant to be held in Sochi, Russia was cancelled due to poor weather conditions so Chamonix will be the first event this year.
The Kandahar World Cup takes place in Les Houches this weekend and the World Junior Ski Championships begin on Monday so it's a exiting time to be in Chamonix!
Other big new this week is the construction of a new snow park in Les Houches, so I’ll try and get down there this week to bring you some footage of that.

Another great week skiing in Chamonix. Heavier than predicted snowfall last weekend and clear blue skies Monday and Tuesday made for perfect conditions. 20cm of fresh snow yesterday followed by clear blue skies today kept conditions good and it looks set to continue.
A busy couple of weeks coming up sees the ‘Le Kandahar’ World Cup Downhill Skiing taking place in Les Houches on the 29th and 30th of this month and also on Saturday 30th the Nissan Freeride World Tour comes to Chamonix. Last years local winner Aurelian Decroux is gearing up to go big.

Video Snow Report from Chamonix : Thu 14th Jan 2010 - Clear Blue Skis and Powder are the story of the week!

Snowfall last Saturday and clear, blue skies Sunday, Monday and Tuesday made for amazing skiing conditions this week, probably the best so far this season. We went to Courmayeur on Tuesday with the Mont Blanc Unlimited pass (the only lift pass that allows skiing in three countries) and the skiing there was superb... immaculately groomed pistes and still fresh tracks off piste. More snow is predicted this weekend and temperatures will stay below freezing, this coupled with light winds and less people in the resort should make for another great week.
