Geneva International Airport - Closest Airport to Chamonix ... Geneva is the most conveniently situated airport for Chamonix, just over 100km away. The journey is straightforward with Chamonix Mont Blanc being signposted almost as soon as you leave the airport. It is worth noting that Geneva Airport is split in two - French and Swiss. Bizarrely it is much easier to find your way onto the French motorway to Chamonix from the Swiss side of the airport, so you should bear this in mind when hiring a car.

Although Geneva has 2 terminals - Charter and Main - the Charter terminal is only really used during winter and has limited facilities; there is a snack bar and restaurant but no money-changing facilities.
