The first rockfall happened around 3:40pm yesterday afternoon, followed by another one at 10:20am this morning and a 3rd at 1:15pm this afternoon (the photos shown are of the 3rd rockfall).

The Dru has a lighter grey patch down one side of it from when a huge chunk fell off back in 2005. This weekend's rock fall is apparently due partly to a rebalancing after-effect of the 2005 incident and partly to a deepening of the active layer of permafrost because of high temperatures we have been enjoying recently.
