Competition For Chamonix Bus Contracts Could Mean Better Service
Bidding for the bus system contract will hopefully bring some good improvements
Residents and visitors to the Chamonix Valley would all benefit from a better bus service; long operating hours, more frequent service to alleviate squeezing in so many passengers in winter, more bike buses in the summer.. perhaps we'll be getting a proper night bus??
Chamonix Bus, part of Transdev, currently hold the contract for the bus network in the Chamonix Valley but that could be about to change.
Although other operators can start applying for the contract from tomorrow, they'll have to prove that they can improve on the current service and meet the needs of the various communes in the Valley.
Once the new contract has been awarded, planning will commence and we'll have to wait until next Autumn before any changes take effect.
