Courmayeur Opening Delayed Until 20th December

Early snowfall followed by mild temperatures affects resort opening

Despite the heavy snowfall earlier this month across the Alps and in particular across the Italian Alps, ski resorts are still struggling to prepare the pistes for their scheduled openings.

In particular, Courmayeur, which is accessible to holders of the Mont Blanc Unlimited Pass, will be delaying their opening, which was scheduled for this Saturday, until the 6th 13th 20th December (conditions permitting).

The delay is due to the unusually mild temperatures that we have been experiencing over the last week. Despite their best efforts they are unable to open this weekend as planned.

So for all those Chamonix people who were planning a day of piste skiing and pizza on Saturday I am afraid you will have to rethink your plans!.
