Early summer closure for Prarion lift

The Prarion gondola will close one week earlier than originally expected

Winter is not yet over in the Chamonix Valley with fresh snow fall over the last few days and Grands Montets offering some spectacular skiing...but no doubt some of you are already thinking of summer.

The lifts are not due to re-open for summer until June, with the exception of course of the Aiguille du Midi and the Montenvers train which open in May and Vallorcine which doesn't open until the beginning of July. Sadly the summer season (or the lift openings at least) is a mere three months and always feels way too short!

Compagnie du Mont Blanc have just announced that the Prarion gondola will be closing a week earlier than planned, due to some major inspection works that need carried out. It will now shut on the 11th September 2016 rather than the 18th. The Bellevue will remain open until the 25th September 2016 as planned. Sad news for mountain bikers who want easy access to the Les Houches Bike Park trails...it's going to be time for a bit of a pedal.

The dates and schedules of the other lifts remain unchanged. For more information on the dates and times of summer lifts, please check our Summer Lift Opening Guide.
