For the eighth year in a row, Lafuma and the French Alpine Club are getting together to clear up rubbish from the Mer de Glace in Chamonix.

Since 2008 around 14 tonnes of rubbish has been removed from the glacier, which appears year after year as the glacier moves and melts.

Metal, glass, plastic and old construction materials are regularly removed from the site at the end of each summer season. Last year saw 4 tonnes of rubbish being airlifted by helicopter alone.

This year's clean up is set to take place on the 11th September.
