Mountains are not just for the Ultra Sporting Elite
The French Mountains launch their summer season by encouraging families
For the past three years the opening summer weekend has given families, couples and friends the chance to experience the mountains with various organisations offering special activities and discounts.
Nearly 300 events are been organised across the French mountains, with over half of them in the Alps. On Saturday 27th June the French Alpine Club will be offering a night stay in a refuge for just 1€ for all minors accompanied by an adult, in a bid to show that these beautiful mountain huts are not just for the gnarliest of climbers.
As the bikers of the Pass'Portes take to the trails of the Portes du Soleil this weekend, the area is offering a special price of 15€ to hikers who wish to access the ski lifts, marked routes and the re-fuelling stops along the way for food!
