Completing the Tour de France...by boat!

Not as silly as it sounds the Tour de France Sailing Race has been a popular race in the world of boats since the late 1970's.

Normally associated with the road biking event this particular tour of the country begins in the waters of Dunkirk in the Channel and involves nine stages over 3.5 weeks of racing, eventually landing in Nice on the Cote d'Azur. The 2015 race starts on the 3rd July and goes until the 26th July.

Better known in his home town of Chamonix as one of the world's top freeride skiers, Aurélien Ducroz is also a keen sailor. So much so that he will be taking part in the next edition of the Tour Voile in less than one weeks time. He will be sailing alongside and skippering members of the 2002 French Olympic sailing team, Laurent Voiron, Eric Peron and Olivier Backes.

The team will be competing on board "laFranceduNordauSud.fr", a Diam 24, 7.25m long trimaran.

We wish all the teams luck for their departure on the 3rd July and look forward to welcoming them into the port of Nice on the 26th July!
