Skiers in Bossons Glacier crevasse rescue

Skier rescued from a crevasse fall on Monday morning

featured in News & reviews Author Ellie Mahoney, Chamonix Editor Updated

Two Italian skiers were descending from the Grands Mulets above the Glacier des Bossons yesterday morning at around 9am, when one of them fell into a crevasse.

Thankfully the two men were roped together, the second man managed to stop his friend falling too far into the crevasse 20 metres below him.

The man in the crevasse secured his position with an ice screw before the PGHM team came to their rescue. Thankfully neither of the two men were hurt.
