At a cost of €2 million the Department of Haute-Savoie has begun a three month long project of major repair and reconstruction works to the RD413 (route de Vaudagne).

This road, which is popular with cyclists wishing to connect to the Chamonix Valley, has been in poor condition for some time now. Previous resurfacing of the Route de Vaudagne started in 2012 and went through until last summer in 2015. This new project aims to not only resurface but to construct drainage trenches, create gullies, ensure rainwater discharges into stream, plus of course the resurfacing of the road for a length of 3.5km.

To this end the road is now closed to vehicles (with the exception of bicycles) until 14th July. Where possible they will try to make the road accessible to traffic on the weekends, but the closure will be in place day and night for the coming three months.

A alternate route will be set up in both directions, which will take the RN 205 and RD213 roads.
