Here we are, the last "official" week of winter - how did it happen so fast? Might have had something to do with record-breaking amounts of snow, awesome powder, beautiful bluebird days, parties on the hill, apres-ski sessions in town, rocking live music, seriously funky DJs and general all-round good times. It's not been a bad winter, all in all.
And it's not quite over yet! This Sunday is the legendary Grands Montets closing party; the one time of the year when it is obligatory to head up the cable car in some form of fancy dress, take skis/snowboard up with little intention of actually using them, install oneself at the Lognan terrace and let the mayhem unfold... crazy folks attempting the waterslide, crazier folks jumping out of helicopters, DJs, BBQ, monoski, sledging, hot tub - you know, the usual. This year's theme is 60's and 70's so dig out the flares, wigs and sequins once more - or go full-on retro and don the always popular onesie. Once the last cable car of the season has made its final descent we'll all be heading to Les Marmottons at the base station for live music from AC/DC (I'm guessing not the actual AC/CD, but you never know).
It's all about the closing parties at the moment, in a few weeks it'll be all about the opening parties again, so may as well fit as much in as possible before the detox starts...
It will be the final Ladies Night for the season tonight at Mix Bar with 2-4-1 cocktails for all the lovely ladies and Dr Kate spinning all the Nu-Disco, funk and soul classics to get us shaking it on the dancefloor - so get glammed up and join the girls!
Saturday will be your last chance to dance the night away at Les Caves, which has had a great season and hosted sooooo many top notch parties. Who better to take charge of the decks than the Black Crows Crew?
The Pop & Skred Sunday Show at South Bar has been one of the best nights of this season with the guys consistently laying down plenty of heavy beats to get that basement booming. Show them some love this Sunday when they'll be playing their final set with suppport from special guest G-Stylz - full details not yet confirmed but it's gonna go off!
It's been an awesome winter but, as ever, in Chamonix there's always something to look forward to and I can't wait for all the fun that summer brings! I'll be back in mid-June once the summer season is underway with more ideas on where to go and what to do, see you there!
