Helicopter search and rescue have been unsuccessful in finding the missing man on the Mont Blanc

Christophe Van Boxtel, a 35 year old Belgian snowboarder, was last seen boarding the Aiguille du Midi lift at 13:40.
No sources can confirm if he set off in the direction of the Vallee Blanche but it is clear he was not fully equipped to be on the glacier; no back-pack with all the essentials - transceiver, harness, crampons, rope...

The weather on Monday was overcast and at times a complete white out.

He was wearing a black Mammut jacket and matching black helmet, yellow leather gloves, blue snowboard boots and a black & red snowboard.

If anyone was on this lift with this man or has any information on his whereabouts please get in touch with the PGHM +33(0)4 50 53 16 89
