Les Houches declared blooming lovely

Award given for village flower display

The town of Les Houches has been given an award for it's impressive flower displays of 2011.

The "Village Fleuri" French version of the "Britain in Bloom" award has named Les Houches as being one of the 12 outstanding communes in the Rhones Alpes region, as well as scooping a special prize for its perennials!

351 communes were entered in the competition, so coming in the top 12 is something of an honour. The town sign will soon be replaced with one sporting the emblem of a flower in recognition of its new status.
