It's snowing in the Chamonix Valley! : 15th February 2012
The Siberian cold snap has finally come to an end. Temperatures rose yesterday and this morning the snow started. The snowflakes were tiny, initially. As the afternoon progresses they are getting bigger and falling more heavily.
The snow/ rain level is around 500m and, according to local weather reports, we are expecting 10-15cm at 1500m over the course of the day, with a further 5-10cm overnight. With the phenomenal snowfall in December and January we had got used to fresh powder. Thankfully, we now have some more!
