Situated in the centre of Chamonix Snell Sports is a bit like a Toy R Us® for grown-up sports enthusiasts! The shop is now huge, having recently undergone expansion in 2003. Indoors they sell pretty much everything there is for the great outdoors: from navigation equipment, to camping and climbing gear, clothing, shoes, and rucksacks. Simply because of the range be prepared to part with a lot of cash as you pick up one item after another!

Despite being a large shop all the Snell staff are still helpful and know their fields - you can tell part of their motivation comes from being 'out there' themselves. The main advantage of buying your gear here, as opposed to away from the mountains, is that often the shop assistants are much more familiar with the products they are actually selling as they are using them day-to-day themselves.

Snell Sports is part of the Cham 3S group. For more than 30 years, under the Cham 3S label, the largest suppliers have built up a group of mountain sports shops here in Chamonix.
