Alison Shayler [ Skinets Administration ] Alison is reasonably new to the Alps, having moved to Chamonix in the summer of 2006. Intending to stay just for one winter, the bug bit and plans to return to Liverpool have been well and truly shelved for the foreseeable future. Alison is an enthusiastic, albeit amateur, skier! |
Caroline Face [ Ski News Reporter ] Caroline joined the Skinets team at the beginning of the 2007/08 season to assist with our news reporting. No stranger to the Alps, she has been living in Chamonix for a number of years and when she's not on the tail of a good story, she's generally found up the hill on her board. |
Chris Richard [ Ski Editor ] A director of the company behind Skinets.com, Chris is ultimately responsible for the sites and their content. Having produced much of the early content for the sites, Chris oversees the on-going work to improve standards. A serial seasonnaire since leaving university, Chris now only skis when the snow is in perfect conditions, the weather is fair and the queues are not existant - so about three times a season then! |
Debs Bernard [ Ski News Reporter ] Debs joined the Skinets.com team in Winter 06/07 and was asked on board for her abilities to translate French to English, allowing us to provide news from local French news sources. She also scours the Internet and various leads to give us the low-down with what is hot in snow. Debs lives out in Chamonix full-time, skis like a goddess, boards like a knarly dude (but doesn't look like one!), and can jump really high on request. |
George Long [ Account Manager ] George has been in France for 7 years and joined Skinets.com in November 2006. After many seasons working throughout France for a large tour operator, he has now settled in the Chamonix valley. George looks after all the partner businesses that feature on our sites. Having been given a “Fat Boy” coffee mug as a leaving present from his last job, he is now generally to be found running or on his mountain bike in his spare time! |
Helen McGrory [ Ski Content Editor ] Helen works in our main office in Chamonix and manages content production for all of our Skinets.com sites. A prolific writer of articles and content herself, she also edits and checks the reports submitted by our numerous resort correspondents. Having worked in the ski industry for many seasons, Helen is a passionate snowboarder (and apres-skier!) and happiest when out and about in the mountains. |
James Fisher [ Ski Video Reporter ] James was the first snow reporter for Valdinet.com and has since moved over to being our Video Snow Reporter for Val d'Isere. James works part-time for Henry's Avalanche Talks as a presenter and trainer - and so has extensive knowledge of the snow conditions and what they can mean. James snowboards and has been known to compete in Big Air competitions. |
Jim Brady [ Chamonix Snow Reporter ] Jim has done a number of seasons in the French and Swiss Alps but has decided to return to Chamonix once more for Winter 07/08 to be our Snow Reporter. A keen skier and back country explorer, Jim already knows where to go to find the best snow in the valley. |
Jonathan Trigell [ Ski & Resort Reporter ] Writer of the award-winning novel Boy A, Jon is a regular contributor to the ski press and the Skinets.com sites. Mutli-talented author, compere, video snow reporter and intrepid freeskier, Jon always seems to be where the action is at. You can catch up with his latest exploits on his MySpace. |
Kevin Knox [ Chamonix Snow Reporter ] Kevin is a passionate snowboarder and photographer and has been with Chamonet since the early days. Kevin has a hugely keen following for this in depth Chamonix Snow Reports. He has also written extensively for other sections of the site, in particular the ski area descriptions and tips for finding the best powder! |
Lucy Strong [ Features Writer ] Lucy joins the skinet.com team this summer but is no stranger to skinets.com websites. In 2004, Lucy was responsible for providing the initial data content for the listings sections across the skinets.com websites. Lucy now joins us in the summer months to assist with the site and system content whilst writing new articles for our features sections. Lucy loves living in the mountains and can often be found out and about in the hills on her new mountain bike! |
Richard Cameron-Beaumont [ Account Manager ] Richard joined the Skinets.com team in Winter 07/08 after enjoying the Montpellier sunshine for 4yrs. He has been in the Alps on and off for 15yrs working for a number of companies and now looks after the partner businesses that feature on our websites. When not out running, Richard can be found generally enjoying life back in the mountains and despite spending 4 years on the coast, he’s still pretty handy on his skis too!! |
Tom Marley-Shaw [ Chamonix Rock Reporter ] Tom is our resident summer reporter in Chamonix and a super keen road biker. He covers many hundreds of kms each week to bring his regular updates on what's going in the area. When he's not on his bike you'll usually find him rambling around the valley in the company of a rather adorable black lab! |
Tom Wilson-North [ Chamonix Summer Reporter ] Though only setting up in Chamonix in 2006, Tom has lived in the mountains for years in the US and Canada. He has a secret past as a music journalist, writing for Mixmag and The Sunday Times, but thankfully saw the light and now writes our Summer Activity Reports. He's a qualified snowboard instructor, an avid downhill mountain biker and a secret fan of Dire Straits. |
