What's New in Chamonix?

The Isra Eco-Chalet is not like your usual Chamonix ski chalet. This newly constructed chalet in Le Mont area of Servoz has been entirely designed to be eco-friendly from the responsibly sourced wood to make the timber beams to the solar-powered hot water and heating system.

It seems an environmentally responsible holiday in the Alps is now possible and the five star Isra Eco-Chalet goes one step further than things like recycling waste and using the spring water to fill the pool and water the garden. In fact, this chalet owner called in the help of feng shui expert Roselyne Steurer, who gave her thoughts on the layout of the chalet and the interior arrangements and furnishings.

Owner Adam Firth was also determined to use local materials and artisans, so Megeve family-run artisans Chalets Grosset Janin were chosen to build the chalet, local sculpteur Patrick Bohn was commissioned to carve some beautiful and unique tables and even local photographer Mario Colonel was bought onboard to display some of his stunning work.

The attention to detail in the chalet is breathtaking, all in accordance with the practices of Feng Shui. All the five elements are represented - wood, fire, water, earth and metal. A keen eye will note that all the corners on things such as the beams have all been rounded off and the layout of the bedrooms means you can see the door and the window. All of these intricacies combine to make us feel relaxed, at ease and tranquil.

Of course, being in the Chamonix valley the chalet owner offers ski holidays, but there is also ample opportunity to indulge in some more 'zen' activities which compliment the ethos behind the chalet very well, so you could find yourself discovering more about mediative walking, yoga, phytotherapy and human energy field healing.
