That"s more like it! Lognan (Chamonix 1972m) this afternoon, Tuesday 24th November |

Just the other day we had our sad faces on as the temperatures were nudging 15 degrees in Chamonix and all that lovely early snow fall had all but melted. Now winter is back, with buckets of rain at resort level, with a snow limit around 1400m.
We've just heard from our spies over the other side of the col des montets that conditions were (in the words of BBC traffic and travel reporters) 'treacherous' first thing this morning, especially as many haven't got those winter tyres on yet. Teams have been out all morning clearing snow and salting on the D1506 from Argentiere to Vallorcine.
With the drop in temperatures, the snow cannons are back on and even Lognan at 1972m is looking all nice and white again. As for opening the pistes, Compagnie du Mont Blanc is still hoping for a partial opening this weekend the 28th November, as yet to be confirmed.
