Fatal avalanche between Chamonix and Italy

The client of a local Chamonix mountain guide has fallen victim to a fatal avalanche. The accident occurred close to the glacier Toule between the Helbronner and the mid-station of the cable-car above the Pavilion.

The snow slid over 2000 metres, almost reaching the Mont Blanc tunnel. Of the 3 skiers in the party, two survived whilst the whilst the person killed was a German aged 47.
