Happy Tracks is run by Anja and Raphi, two fully qualified experienced enthusiastic mountaineers who speak fluent English, French, German and Spanish. They believe that their close friendship, strong passion for the outdoors and extensive mountain experience makes them the perfect team and they love sharing this passion with their guests!
They specialise in long distance trails. These generally include transfers, full board and accommodation and include activities such as hikes and canyoning (combination of abseiling and jumping down waterfalls)
This is one of the top ten treks in the world. It covers a distance of 200km and 15,000m of elevation. This incredibly scenic walk takes place over 10 days, connecting Mont Blanc with Matterhorn. You'll pass through beautiful flowered meadows, crystalline lakes and views over impressive glaciers. In the evenings you will stay in some traditional mountain villages and huts.
Tour du Mont Blanc Trail
This 10 day tour is not technically difficult but can be very demanding. It is 170km long with 8000m altitude variation. It starts in Les Houches (France), and passes through Italy and Switzerland. You'll circuit around the highest peaks in Europe, enjoying forests, glaciers, alpine lakes and meadows. Accommodation is provided each evening in either a local village or a traditional mountain hut.

Full Moon Snowshoe Walk with Camp Fire & Mulled Wine
Who hasn’t dreamt of a romantic walk in the twilight? Make your dreams come true with a fantastic snowshoe walk during the night or even during the full moon. Late in the afternoon or early evening Happy Tracks pick you up at their meeting point before you head off on a special snowshoe adventure. You'll travel along the snowy landscape with torches and lanterns, through the dark and mysterious forest before you reach a charming camp created by your guides. On an open fire you'll enjoy homemade mulled wine or tea before heading back down the path to Chamonix.
Igloo Fondue or Overnight Stay
The absolute highlight in Happy Tracks' winter programme is their igloo activities. They have spent many hours creating an amazing igloo that has been built from blocks of snow, just like the Inuit do high up in the north. The only way to reach their igloo is on snowshoes! You can enjoy the beautiful, magical, snowy scenery as you hike up to this unique abode. Once you arrive you will find plenty of space for between 8 to 10 people. You can relax in the cosy and warm interior on furniture made out of ice are covered with fluffy and comfy sheep skins. They offer fondue lunches or dinners by candle light along with the snowshoe hikes. You can also enjoy romantic overnight stay on the bed carved out of ice that is piled with fluffy sheep skins and a double duvet or sleeping bag.
Sledding is an fun activity for everyone. Challenge yourself to ride down a sledging track in a traditional sled. Their sledding adventures are usually combined with a snowshoe walk to reach the departure point for the ride back down, but you can just do the sledging part if you prefer. The company offer sledding in two different locations and as half-day or day trips.
Tour du Mont Blanc on Snowshoes
The Tour du Mont Blanc is known as one of the most famous and beautiful long distance treks in the world. The trek circles the Mont Blanc and passes through Italy, Switzerland and France. Although it is usually a summer trek, Happy Tracks have created an unique itinerary to discover the beautiful scenery around the Mont Blanc in the winter time. Instead of going from hut to hut (summer) you will stay in comfortable hotels and Bed & Breakfasts from where you will start your snowshoe adventures each day. The six day tour is suitable for everyone with a reasonable fitness. You will snowshoe between 4 to 7 hours a day. It is not necessary to have previous snowshoeing experience as it is easy to learn and great fun!
Hut to hut overnight snowshoe tours
If you want to enjoy an unique experience in the mountains Happy Tracks can highly recommend a hut to hut tour. You'll strap on snowshoes and head off for great adventure. Your backpacks will be packed with warm clothes for the night and some food for the day. You will get to enjoy the exceptional scenery and peacefulness of the mountains. You will reach the mountain hut by early afternoon. There are no guardians of the huts during the winter months but your guides will make sure that you have a comfortable stay. They will heat the place up with a wood stove and you can enjoy some hot soup to keep you toasty. Once you are settled in your guides will make you an excellent, freshly prepared, three course dinner. After dinner there is time to relax, socialise and play games. Whilst you are up there - you'll have excellent opportunities to photograph the stunning sunsets, sunrises as well as the stars over the valley at night. When morning comes, your guides will make you a hearty breakfast before heading back down the mountain.
