Lots of snow overnight in Chamonix

Chamonix Dump Alert: 4th February 2016

After a lot of rain yesterday morning an early afternoon, the snow gods finally started playing ball, and by the end of the day snow was falling thick & fast again in Chamonix. 

Around 5-10cm fell in town overnight (see pic)

Here are the latest stats for what fell around the valley: 

  • Aiguille du Midi - 150cm
  • Brevent - Top 35cm / Mid station 26cm
  • Flegere - Top 40cm / Mid station 30cm
  • Grands Montets - Top 55cm / Mid station 48cm
  • Le Tour / Balme - 38cm
  • Les Houches - 30cm

The avalanche risk has gone back up to 3/5. Enjoy the fresh snow!
