DVA Days at Grands Montets, Argentiere
Free avalanche awareness & search technique classes
Dedicate a few hours to revise or improve your avalanche search skills and be ready when there's a lot of snow and the risk of avalanches is greater.
La Chamoniarde organises free workshops to allow the general public to learn about avalanche search techniques (Under the INTERREG V project France-Italy 2014-2020 PrevRiskHauteMontagne).
A mountain guide from La Chamoniarde will teach participants the basic techniques for searching for avalanche victims: DVA search, surveying, shovelling.
Dates: Every Sunday from 8th January to 26th March 2017
Duration: 50 minutes
Prerequisite: You must be equipped with a digital DVA (Avalanche Victim Detector), probe and shovel.
Where : January: DVA Park of La Flégère / February / March: Parc DVA des Grands-Montets
Hours: Beginning of sessions 10:00 / 11:00 / 13h00 / 2:00 p.m. / 3:00 p.m.
No registration in advance, come directly to the park.
The workshops are still held even in the event of bad weather (except when the ski lifts are closed).
