Booming trade on the Aiguille du Midi

It seems the Aiguille du Midi is THE place to visit this summer with nearly 4000 people per day flocking up the cable car at the moment. In fact they haven't had less that 3200 a day since the high season started on July 1st. Although they aren't quite hitting previous visitor records of 5400 a day, the flow of traffic is sufficient for the Compagnie du Mont Blanc to limit the amount of time spent at the top. On purchasing a ticket you will be allocated a cabin time to go up and the same for the return. Don't worry though, you'll still have plenty time to take in the amazing views at the top, visit all the viewing platforms and sit and have your sandwiches before returning to town. At €36 for an adult return ticket, that's not a bad days takings!
