It has been a busy weekend for Chamonix's mountain-rescue teams. In addition to attending three fatal accidents, mountain rescue teams attended a number of other incidents, with the helicopters in permenant rotation.

Sunday morning things got going at 6a.m. when two Italian climbers were recovered following a fall, which resulted in a knee injury for one and a dislocated shoulder for the other. Next on the list on the aretes de Rochefort, was a female climber who also was the victim of a fall and suffering from a pulled shoulder; and then onto the pointe Percée where a walker had fallen and had injured his head.

Two climbers were also rescued following bouts of altitude sickness, one on the col du Dome, and the other from the Dome du Gouter. The final incident of the weekend concerned a climber on the l'Envers des aiguilles who had slid on snow, breaking his ankle and injuring his head.
