Chamonix town centre pedestrianised

The pedestrianisation of Chamonix town centre is coming along well. Now the bulk of the summer crowds have left, work has resumed at full throttle to complete as much of the centre as possible before winter. Once Avenue Michel Croz is sporting its new pavement, then it'll be the turn of Place Balmat to get a face lift. Any of you planning on seeing in the New Year in Chamonix this winter, don't forget to take a moment to admire the new flagstone surface that will be in place by then. Far more conducive to stumbling around on than those pesky cobbles!
