Confirmation of lifts opening this weekend

Further confirmation for you regarding lift openings in the valley this coming weekend; from Saturday 16th December the Compagnie du Mont Blanc has now confirmed that there will be a partial opening of the Chamonix ski area as follows:

Grand Montets partial opening:

  • Plan Joran Chairlift

  • Tabé Chairlift

  • Marmottons Chairlift

  • Bochard Gondola

  • It should be noted that the Pierre à Ric home run is closed for the time being.

    Should the opening of the Grands Montets not be possible this week-end or for the following week, then as anticipated, the Balme ski area (Le Tour) will welcome skiers on Charamillon gondola and Autannes chairlift for the following slopes :

  • Ecuries
  • Stade
  • Arve
  • Solonge
  • Caisets (depending on snow conditions)
  • With limited ski options currently available, special pass rates will apply:
    Chamonix Le Pass day pass - €18
    Mont Blanc Unlimited 6 day pass - €110

    For beginners, the Samaran drag lift and the magic carpet will be opening on the Savoy slopes and will be free of charge this weekend (16th/17th December). An additional beginners area is also open as of today in Les Houches – the Mont Blanc drag lift – (access via the Bellevue cable car). The drag lift itself is free of charge but skiers wishing to make use of the beginner slopes here need to buy a return ticket for the cable car. Reduced prices are €12.70 for adults, €11.40 for youths and seniors and €8.90 for children under 12 years.
