So how is your French? Honestly?? Can you just about manage to order a beer and a croque monsieur, but beyond that your school French is a dim and distant memory? Are those free language cds with the Sunday paper just not working?

If you have always fancied being able to he haw he haw with the locals, then there is only one way to do it – come to France and mingle with them! INSTED is the French language institute based here in Chamonix that offers high quality French courses with qualified, native French speaking teachers all year round. The teachers use a wide range of methods to improve your conversational skills, pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar and all tuition is carried out in French right from the word go.

Not only will you improve your language ability, but you'll also be able to cram in a whole lot of fun and activity in your spare time. The classes last for 3 hours a day (5 days a week) and are easily intertwined with an afternoon hiking or mountain biking or lolling by the river if you prefer. Chamonix generally has a very pleasant summer climate, with warm sunny days and cool evenings, perfect for doing as much or as little as you want.

INSTED has been offering French courses in Chamonix since 1999 and is closely linked with Univertisé Stendhal in Grenoble. Now under new management, the summer courses start on 2nd July and every second Monday after that until the end of September. There are still a few places left on the summer programme so if you are interested why not read our own experience of their courses and then drop them an e-mail via the link below.
