Queues at the Mont Blanc Tunnel

Although French tourism claims to be suffering a slow season this summer, you would never think that was the case by the queues of traffic backed up from the Mont Blanc Tunnel in recent days. This picture was taken on Friday evening at 5pm and shows a small section of the 3km tailback down the tunnel access road. Motorists heading in the direction if Italy had a 2 hour wait to get through the tunnel before continuing on their journey. In the current scorching temperatures, there were a few getting pretty hot under the collar!
