Sunshine meant a busy day for the rescue services

The number of rescues carried out on the Vallée Blanche was considerably boosted on Friday as a result of the good weather and a large increase in the number of people venturing onto the route. The high mountain rescue service helicopter was called out 7 times during the day to rescue inexperienced or unaccompanied skiers who had got themselves into sticky situations.
