Time to brush up on your language skills before winter?

featured in News & reviews Author Helen McGrory, Chamonix Reporter Updated

If you're planning on doing a season in France this winter but are maybe feeling a little less than confident in your current ability to converse with the locals, why not spend the run up to the season productively and enrol yourself on a language course with INSTED in Chamonix!

The popular language school is under new management this year and they now have even more course options on offer than before. Whether you want to start learning a language from scratch, take a refresher course or can only manage evening classes, they have something to suit you. Their autumn French programme is just about to get underway and there are still one or two precious places available. All tuition is carried out in French by experienced, native speaking teachers and you are encouraged to speak the language right from the word go. Courses generally run for 3 hours per day (either a.m. or p.m.) and so leave you plenty time to get out and about and practice your newly learned skills and enjoy the many activities that Chamonix has to offer.

However, it's no longer just French courses that are on offer. You can also sign up to improve your English, with courses that can be tailored specifically for those working in the tourism and service industries, or for mountain professionals, such as guides and ski instructors. Basic and intermediate level Italian is also on offer, as well as beginners Swedish.

If you are interested in signing up for one of the final places for the autumn term, then contact the school swiftly on +33 (0)450 53 03 66 or e-mail them via the link below. Or, if you would prefer to undertake a longer course of tuition, then INSTED are now taking bookings for their winter semester. Contact the school for further details.

The Chamonix branch of the school has been running since 1999 and offers language courses for all ability levels for the majority of the year, so if skiing isn't your thing, come in the summer and combine your studies with hiking and mountain biking.
