- "Absolutely perfect and worth every penny!! The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Everyday our room was made up, when we returned from our day snowboarding our room would have a fire lit and when we would return from dinner our beds would be turned down. I cannot rave enough about this, it's like they anticipated our every move." - Trip Advisor
- "We have just returned from our second visit to this hotel. Once again it was a most pleasant experience. I could not find fault with the hotel or the staff and its very seldom that I have found this. We had a wonderful large room with fabulous views and the indoor/outdoor pool is simply amazing with snow falling in the evening! The complimentary chauffeur service to the various slopes in Chamonix was really efficient and saved us lots of valuable time on a weekend break." - Trip Advisor
- "My wife and I recently stayed at the Hameau Albert in Chamonix, France and had an outstanding experience. The facility and grounds are sensational and located in a perfect location within walking distance to everything in Chamonix. The staff at Hameau Albert obviously pride themselves on creating a top notch experience and if you're fortunate enough to meet Sebastian you are in a for a real treat. Sebastian did everything from greet us at the front door, to unloading our car, showing us to our rooms, pouring us welcome drinks, explaining the town and what to do, parking our car, bringing our bags to the room, periodically checking in on us, bringing our bags down from room, loading our car, giving us thank you for staying gifts and bottled waters for the drive out of Chamonix. And he did all of that with a smile on his face and the most polite (at your service) demeanour you've ever seen. If you're looking for a truly special experience check out Le Hameau Albert. You wont be disappointed." - Trip Advisor

Chamonix has two lift stations that are directly accessible from the town centre - Brevent and Aiguille du Midi. The Brevent lift station is located behind the tourist office just a few minutes walk up a short hill, or you can catch a bus. The high-speed gondola takes you up to the main ski area at Plan Praz (2000m), where you can connect to a large cable car that goes all the way to the top at 2525m - the only route down from here is a black run but it's worth going up for the stunning views, you can get the cable car back down again if you're not confident enough to tackle the piste. Brevent is linked by another cable car to the nearby Flegere ski area, both are included on the same lift pass making it a great option for a full day on the slopes. Aiguille du Midi is one of the most popular tourist attractions in France and if you venture up, you'll see why. The cable is split into two sections and you change cars halfway at Plan de l'Aiguille, a popular hiking destination in the summer. The top of the second section sits at 3842m and is engulfed in snow all year round. Numerous viewing platforms look out on to breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks, you can see France, Switzerland and Italy in one turn of the head. The Aiguille du Midi is also the start of the Vallée Blanche, one of the world's most famous off-piste runs. The ever-changing nature of glacial terrain makes it dangerous to attempt without local knowledge though, so be sure to book a qualified mountain guide before setting off.
