Make yourself at home in the relaxing, informal surroundings of this hotel. It is small and full of charm, built in typical Savoyard style, and has been welcoming winter and summer visitors alike for many years.
Situated by the La Flégère cable car, this hotel provides direct access to Chamonix's ski slopes in winter and to the best hiking trails in summer, as well as an 18-hole golf course.
Hotel Les Lanchers has recently undergone a 1.6 million euro refurbishment and can now offer guests an even greater standard of comfort. They have introduced Italian style ceramic and glass shower rooms, with standard accommodation featuring a Queen size bed, modern furnishings and a range of other facilities.
The hotel has also updated its 19 en-suite bedrooms which include single, double, twin, triple, two-bedroomed family suites, and a fully equipped disabled bedroom. Regular guests will also be glad to see passenger lift access to all rooms, especially after a hard day’s skiing or walking. The hotel proves a popular choice for those looking for great value with modern comfort.
All rooms are equipped with telephone, flat screen television, free Wi-Fi and en-suite bathroom (with bath or shower). Some rooms are available with a balcony and all enjoy superb mountain views overlooking the Mont Blanc or L'Aiguille des Drus.
For skiers, in the winter months there is a boot drying room and equipment storage available, as well as a sauna where you can unwind and revive any aching muscles after a full day on the mountain.
Les Lanchers has all the friendliness and intimacy of a chalet coupled with the efficiency, service and amenities of a hotel; high priority is placed on good value, good service and good food.
The cosy cocktail bar is located on the ground floor and has large windows onto the main street of Les Praz, so you can watch the world go by if you choose. The comfortable armchairs are a great spot to enjoy an après-ski 'vin chaud' (mulled wine) or simply a post-dinner drink.
Restaurant Le Refuge is a popular eatery for both guests and locals, with chef Thierry Morbu serving a menu based on freshly sourced seasonal produce. Half board packages including afternoon tea are available to guests, with reductions for children between 3-10 years and completely free for those under 3. They also prepare packed lunches for you to take to the slopes in winter, or for a summer al fresco picnic.
Families & Kids
You’ll need to book your own childcare, when staying here. There is a great choice of childcare options in Chamonix from full-time nanny services to the odd night of babysitting. In addition, during the winter season, many of the ski-schools operate creche services. Booking in advance is always recommended and strongly advised for the school holiday periods.

You’ll need to book your own ski hire, when staying here. There are many choices for hiring equipment. Generally, you’re best off choosing somewhere close for ease of access, & less far to carry your kit, easier to make changes, and quicker to return and pay at the end. Nevertheless, many suppliers will deliver and some snow-front rental stores offer ski lockers, so it’s worth checking out all the options.

Instructors & Lessons
When staying here, you’ll need to book your own ski or snowboard lessons. Tuition is strongly recommended for complete beginners and is always a good idea whatever your level to perfect your technique. Groups are also a generally cheaper option for adults, however, with a private instructor you’ll have undivided attention and be able to progress at your own pace.

- "Everything about Les Lanchers was spot on! The staff - ALL the staff were super friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we requested and were happy! The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The restaurant was really good and we looked forward to the daily specials! The wifi was strong and reliable. The management had just finished a lovely and chic remodel of the common areas shortly before our arrival. Another couple of GREAT bonuses are the bus/ski shuttle directly outside the hotel and the Le Flegere lift/resort 400m up the road. There is also a wonderful little store a block up the road. The hotel is situated just outside of Chamonix proper and is quickly and easily reached by the free shuttle that runs every 11 minutes. Great spot - will visit here again!" - Trip Advisor
- "We will be back as soon as possible due to this hotel's excellent hospitality, friendly staff, and wonderful proximity to Chamonix centre. We walked along a beautifully wooded path for about 20 minutes and found ourselves in the center of great restaurants and shops. You can get to the lifts easily and take hikes and bike rides. You cannot go wrong staying here. It made our trip! Very quiet and peaceful at night - even though we had a rocking time at the bar!" - Trip Advisor
- "This is a friendly hotel only a mile or two outside Chamonix. The view from our room was of the Aiguille du Midi. What more could you ask? Our room was clean and functional. We can thoroughly recommend the dining room. Parking was easy and free outside the hotel. Would recommend." - Trip Advisor

Once summer arrives there are several walking and mountain biking trails that start in Les Praz. Visitors enjoy taking the path up from the valley floor to view the stunning surrounding scenery from the Le Floria cafe, where they can also enjoy a delicious lunch before carrying on to the refuge at Lac Blanc.

Bars? Nightlife? That's not what Les Praz is all about. You can enjoy a cocktail or a vin chaud in front of the fireplace at the bar of Hotel Les Lanchers but that's about as wild as it gets. There is a nightbus that connects Chamonix to Les Praz, but check the timetable so you don't miss the last one!
