Choose your backcountry heliskiing or heliboarding adventure accompanied by an expert guide.
Fully qualified high mountain guides have an expert knowledge of the local terrain. Before each of their off-piste heliski session, they dedicated 30 minutes to avalanche training, including transceiver use. They use only the most sophisticated safety equipment (ABS airbags, Ortovox transceivers and Haglofs backpacks).
Also available is a Heliski preparation course with UIAGM Mountain Guides and instructors where you'll receive instruction on your technique and avalanche safety training. This is a great way to explore the hidden gems in Chamonix with the security and confidence that a professional brings.
Heliskiing / Heliboarding
Backcountry adventures operate in and around the following three heliski destinations: Valgrisenche, The Courmayeur Valley and the Col de Petit St Bernard Pass. 32 drop zones within these three broad valley regions gives you a huge choice of terrain, snow conditions and mountain orientation to ensure you have a day best suited to your ability and preferences.
These backcountry skiing and snowboard routes all offer 2,500 verticle metres of decent with runs lasting between 1h30 and 2hrs. They offer a maximum of 6 drops per day using return helicopter transfers to save time and energy.
There is no limit in place for the number of people you can book a trip, however, generally, there are four clients per helicopter plus a guide. Guides will are happy to supply you with any of the equipment needed to make sure you have the perfect experience. They also provide shovels and transceivers.
Also offered are reverse heliskiing trips where you'll use resort lifts to reach the summit and get picked up be helicopter after skiing off-piste to a remote location.
