3 Rescued on Aiguille du Tacul

Helicopter rescue for Swiss, German & Canadian climbers

featured in News & reviews Author Ellie Mahoney, Chamonix Editor Updated

Early yesterday afternoon the PGHM were called out by helicopter to rescue three climbers - a Swiss, a German & a Canadian, who were unable to descend the route they had started on the Aiguille du Tacul.

The three men were apparently too physically tired to continue the route, or to descend the way they came and called for help.

The Aiguille du Tacul, offering a selection of popular climbing routes, is 3,438m above sea level and accessed from the Aiguille du Midi.
