With the Planpraz telecabine already in operation, the resorts téléphérique opens for summer 2018, giving access to the 2,525m rocky summit of Le Brevent.

The Brevent mid station at 1,999m can be accessed either by the gondola from Chamonix town, or on foot via the steep zig-zagging path that's visible from the town centre, otherwise knows as the Vertical Kilometre. From the mid station you can take the Brevent cable car straight to the top of the mountain and start various hikes, or just take in the incredible views as you look across to the Mont Blanc massif.

It's worth noting that certain mountain trails are not yet accessible due large amounts of remaining snow after an extraordinary winter. Compagnie du Mont Blanc recommend checking with la Chamoniarde at +22 (0)4 50 53 22 08 or on www.chamoniarde.com before embarking on a hike. With the closure of both the Plan de l'Aiguille and Aiguille du Midi lifts until July 6th, the Brevent téléphérique is one of the best options in Chamonix for taking in the spectacular views of the valley.
