The Freeride World Tour is back in Chamonix for its tenth season, kicking off next weekend.

The event is followed by fans all around the world and if you're in Chamonix while it's on, it's a great event go go and watch.

Chamonix is the first official leg of this year's tour, with stop offs in Vallnord (Andorra), Fierbrunn (Austria), Haines (Alaska), finishing up in Verbier at the Swatch Xtreme event on 1st April.

This year's competitors were announced back in September last year, so if you want to find out who to follow, have a read of our event preview

From Friday 27th January the event village will be back in town, opening from 13:00. The official opening ceremony will take place from 17:00 in the main square, Place Balmat.

The competition then begins the following morning at Brevent. The event is scheduled to start at 09:00 (weather and snow conditions permitting). If you're planning on heading up the mountain to watch, you need to get up there early as the lift queues will be huge. If all goes to plan and the competition takes place on time, the winners will be crowned in a prize giving ceremony in Place Balmat from aroun 13:00. You'll be able to meet some of the athletes and if you're lucky, hang out with them at La Terrasse for the after party.

If you can't be here to see all the action in person you can watch live on the FWT website or Daily Motion.
